Processing time and usage

5min

What is the Processing time?

Processing time = time consumed by actions within a process while running. The average processing time of a platform action is 0.08 seconds (80 milliseconds). Depending on the context (complex API calls, Custom Actions) the processing time of an action can take seconds or minutes.

What is a workspace?

A collaborative account.

Why is having multiple workspaces beneficial?

You can separate processes and resources for specific teams, departments, projects, or clients.

What is the processing time limit?

In PROCESIO we distinguish between soft-limit and hard-limit for processing time.

Why do I have a limit on processing time?

The processing time limit is correlated with your annual plan value and we will inform you when your plan is running out of resources so that you can take the decision of upgrading the resources or optimizing the processes.

We allow an extra processing past your plan’s allocated processing time, up to 30% of your monthly resources - which will be invoiced at the end of the month. This is what we call “hard limit”.

What is a soft limit?

The soft limit represents the processing time of your current plan. Should your organization reach the soft limit, processes will continue to run until the hard limit is reached. Processing time beyond the soft limit is additionally charged according to your contract.

What is a hard limit?

The hard limit represents 30% of the processing time on top of your current plan (soft limit). PROCESIO offers companies the possibility to execute processes beyond their soft limit and be charged according to their plan in order not to abruptly stop critical process processing.

*Limits reset on a monthly basis.

**processing time beyond the soft limit is charged per hour according to the contract.

***Once you are close to reaching your limits we alert your admins and it is recommended for them to contact us.

What happens when I reach the soft limit?

When the soft limit is reached, your workspace administrators will be notified. Additionally, you will start consuming processing time beyond the soft limit, up to 30% (hard limit) of your monthly processing time. As the processing time beyond the soft limit is not included in your plan, you will be charged per hour according to the contract and invoiced after the month ends.

What happens when I reach the hard limit?

Process processing is suspended until usage resets (monthly reset).  You can contact us for a plan upgrade.

When does the soft limit reset?

Limits are reset on a monthly basis on the 1st of each month at 00:00 UTC time. Workspace administrators will be informed prior to reaching the soft limit.

When does the hard limit reset?

Limits reset on a monthly basis on the 1st of each month at 00:00 UTC time. Workspace administrators will be informed prior to reaching the hard limit. Once the hard limit is reached in a particular month no more processing is allowed, in that month, for that particular workspace, unless the administrator decides to upgrade the monthly processing time.

What do I need to do to reset/ extend my processing time before the beginning of the month automatic reset?

Contact us at [email protected]

Does PROCESIO notify me about reaching the limits?

Yes, PROCESIO will notify you before reaching the limits and also when the limits are reached.

What happens with my processes when the hard limit is reached?

If the hard limit is reached, process processing is suspended until usage resets. However, if there are processes in a “running” state, their processing will not be stopped. Running a process while on a hard limit is not possible, you will have either to upgrade your plan or to wait until the beginning of the month when limits reset.

What happens if I have active schedules and the hard limit is reached?

Processing of the process will not be initiated when the scheduled time occurs.

What if I receive data via webhook and the hard limit is reached?

The webhook will not trigger the process.

Who is notified about reaching the limit?

The administrator and/or owner roles of the workspace.

What do I need to do if I need to upgrade the processing time limit?

Contact us at [email protected] or hit the “Request upgrade” button on the Dashboard.

How much am I charged for the extra processing time/hard limit?

Processing time beyond the soft limit is charged per processing hour according to the contract.

Can I delegate the ownership rights to another user?

Yes, we also recommend that you distribute the responsibility of managing users and workspaces among a selected set of trusted users. You can add users with co-owning rights in the Users section in Workspace Administration. They will be granted add/edit/delete access to all the resources in Workspace Administration, i.e. workspaces and users.

What rights a co-owner has?

A co-owner will share the same right as the owner, except for not being able to remove the owner of a Workspace Administration.

How many co-owners can I add?

There is no number limit. Just make sure you distribute the responsibility of managing users and workspaces among a selected set of trusted users.

How will the workspaces created in the Workspace Administration will consume the processing time?

All the workspaces listed in Workspace Administration will use processing time from the total hours allocated in the contract annexes, visible in the Workspace Administration dashboard.

Can I allocate a specific amount of processing time to a workspace?

Not yet, but we are working on this functionality for a future release.

Can I prevent a workspace to use extra processing time?

Yes, when a new workspace is created, the owner has the option to allow or prevent that newly created workspace from using extra processing time. If extra processing time is generated it will generate costs at the Workspace Administration level.
